News from 27th August 2021

Congratulations to Zac Daffern who swam 25m for his badge and certificate.

Club Session On 30/7/21 is 7pm to 8pm.

Just to let members know, the club session on 30/7 and for the time being, is 7pm to 8pm. We can’t have our usual time at the moment, as swimming lesson times for the lessons before our slot, have had to be staggered, due to Covid restrictions. Once these are lifted, we may be able to go back to our usual time slot. We cannot say at the moment when that will be.

If you have a passport to leisure, it will have expired during the lockdowns. If you haven’t already, you will need to renew it. The forms are available on the reception desk at the leisure centre or you can download a copy here:

Friday 23rd July Club Time Change to 7pm to 8pm

Due to a mix up the club session tonight has changed to 7pm to 8pm. Apologies for the short notice, we have only just found out and are trying to let as many members know as possible

NASCH Finals Gala 2021 Cancelled

We have received this message from the NASCH Committee:

National Finals Gala

The NASCH Committee have considered very carefully whether to hold the annual Championship Gala. Considering the circumstances surrounding the pandemic, it has been decided to cancel  the Gala at Leamington Spa which was to have been held on 6th November 2021.   We all hope for better next year.

Club sessions to restart on Friday 23rd July (unless there are further lockdown restrictions)

We  have agreed with the leisure centre that club sessions will restart on Friday 23rd July unless there are further lockdown restrictions. Both pools will be open as previously.
We agreed that although not compulsory, it would be good practice to wear a face mask when moving around the leisure centre and to reduce time in the changing rooms by arriving mostly ready to swim.

We look forward to seeing you all again!

Carers Trust Heart of England

We are trying to encourage people to follow our page on Facebook (Carers Trust Heart of England) to keep up to date with the help, advice and practical and emotional support the charity can offer those caring for loved ones in Coventry and Warwickshire. If any carers would be interested in receiving a free carers assessment/wellbeing check to support their own health and wellbeing the info on how to do so is included in the post – hopefully this will be helpful. Many thanks Christine.

Christmas Party On Zoom 23/12/20 at 6pm

We will be hosting a Christmas Party on Zoom on Wednesday 23rd December at 6pm. We have a Christmas Quiz to start things off. We know this can’t replace being able to go swimming, but hopefully this will give us a chance to all catch up after what has been a difficult year. Feel free to wear your Christmas jumpers and bring a mince pie to eat! We might even sing some Christmas carols too!

If you would like an invite sending via email, with the meeting details on, please let Marie know, either via Facebook or marieclarke5@btinternet.com

Hope to see you there!

Disability Rights UK

Hi all, message from Sported’s Disability lead.  Please see message from Disability Rights UK below. Please send onto any members who you think might be interested in this opportunity.

We want to make a big effort to ensure that any messages and influencing we do on the upcoming government strategy for disabled people are coming directly from disabled people. We are currently looking to hear from individuals who have anything to say about their experience of life.

We are asking disabled people to tell us what matters to them by emailing webelong@disabilityrightsuk.org. People can also send us audio or video of you talking about the things that matters to them.
