Latest News July and August 2017

Congratulations to the following swimmers who have been busy getting awards over the holiday period:

On 28th July, Daniel Hodge swam 400m to complete his Bronze Challenge. Gurvinder Garcha (333m), Phoebe Tully (339m) and William Newton (386m) all improved distance in their 10 minute tests for new certificates.

On 4th August, Aidan Tully swam 400m to complete his Bronze Challenge and also gained a new certificate for his 10 minute times swim (213m).

Thank you to Judy Newton and Sally-Anne Tully for taking charge.

News from 21st July 2017

Congratulations to William Newton and Phoebe Tully who have completed their Bronze Challenge Awards. Congratulations also to Matthew Sloan who swam 400m for a badge and certificate and to Cas (our small pool instructor) who has passed her ASA Teacher of Aquatics Award. Very well done  to all!!

 

Kay Clarke Invitation Gala Saturday 18th November 2017

The Kay Clarke Memorial Gala is being held on Saturday 18th November 2017, 4.30pm-7pm, at Bedworth Leisure Centre.  The closing date for entry is 15th October 2017 and the entry fee per swimmer is £3.00. Below is the entry form and information for Bedworth members.

Worcester Development Gala 30th September 2017

CP Sport are hosting a development gala day for people with a physical disability.

It is based in Worcester at Perdiswell Leisure Centre on Saturday 30th September 1pm-5pm. Flyer and entry form are attached, if any swimmers did not know about the event.

Sonia’s Sponsored Swim

On 9th June 2017, Sonia Kelly completed a sponsored swim of 86 lengths and has raised an fantastic £349 for club funds. Many thanks Sonia, from the committee and everyone at the club.

NASCH Gala 2017

Attached is a provisional entry for the NASCH Gala. Please note that entry times may be faster or slower than your pb. These can be changed after the entry deadline if necessary. Availability is more important at this stage. It is bonfire Saturday as usual – please check your diaries!

Tour De France Sweepstake Draw 30th June 2017

The draw for the Tour De France Sweepstake will take place this Friday on 30th June. You can download tickets below, or they will be available to buy on poolside.

Bedworth Disabled Swimming Club is running a sweepstake on the winning team in the Tour de France.

Tickets are available to purchase for £1 for each attempt from the club or can be downloaded from the club website    www.bedworthdisabledswimming.co.uk

Completed tickets should be returned to Sheila Carey or Barbara Lanwarne before 1st July when the draw will be made. Each ticket will draw one of the 22 teams randomly.

The draw will be published on the web site before the racing commences with the first stage from Dusseldorf on 1st July.

It is then possible to follow the progress of the teams until the final sprint on the Paris Champs-Élysées on 23rd July.

This should make an interesting three weeks for a minimum of just a £1 entry!

Best of all you are helping to support the swimming club each time you buy or sell a ticket. Please note there is no limit to the number of tickets that one person can purchase.

Webb Ivory Closure

We have received a letter from Webb Ivory, to say that they have decided to close the business on 30th June 2017. Our account is up to date. Our club has been fundraising with Webb Ivory for a few years and we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped us to raise a fantastic amount for club funds through the Webb Ivory Catalogues.
