Tamworth Gala and news from 31st May 2013

At the Tamworth gala we managed 29 personal best swims –  15 of the 18 swimmers set at least 1. The figure  included 3 each from Amy cooper, Bethany Kelly and Karen Finnegan. Marie Clarke broke a 9 year old backstroke pb.

On 31st May, William Newton swam a full length of the small pool using buoyancy aids for a certificate.

Thomas Slater, Amy Cooper and Aaron Peters all set new distances for their 10 minute stamina test.

Nuneaton Carnival

Unfortunately, we have decided to cancel our stall on the gala field at the carnival this year. Thanks to everyone who offered to help or donate prizes.

Fundraising ideas for the club are always welcome, so if you have any ideas, please let the committee know.

We are running a Sweepstake later this month for the Tour De France. The draw will take place on Friday 21st June. If you would like to buy tickets, they are £1 each and are available on poolside during the swim session, or by clicking on the link below:

Tamworth Gala Results 2013

Here are the results from the Tamworth Gala held on 18th May 2013. According to the results, we had 22 gold medals (including 8 for relays), 11 silver, 10 bronze and one speeding ticket.  Well done to everyone on the team, a great result!

Tamworth Gala

Many congratulations to the whole team representing the club at the Tamworth gala. A brilliant performance by all 18 swimmers in the individual events, topped by gold medals for both the “A” and “B” relay teams. Full results when we get them. We are expecting lots of pbs. Many thanks to Megan for all her hard work helping Sheila and Pete with the swimmer support and report.

 

Main Pool Closed 17/05/13

The main pool at Bedworth Leisure Centre is closed tonight, (17/05/13), due to an accident. The small pool will be open as usual. Thank you.

Tamworth Gala 18th May 2013

We have 18 individual entries and 4 relay teams entered in Tamworth Gala on Saturday. The start time is 6.00pm – swimmers to report at 5.15pm.

Please collect an information letter on Friday.

Sponsored Swim

The sponsored swim that Julie Ryan and Marie Clarke completed on 5th April has raised a grand total of £249.21 for club funds. Julie swam 70 lengths and Marie swam 50 lengths. Many thanks to everyone who sponsored them.
